Drivers front window (someone help please)
So I took the skin off the drivers front door to see why my window wasn't working (hasn't for a wile held up with shims.) looked around an found this thing. I don't know what it is or were it goes but when I hook the skin back up and try the switch for my window, this thing is what goes in and out or up and down why ever you wanna say. I need to know if anyone knows where this connects to or how I an fix this issue. Thanks people.

Yes, it is a window regulator. And it is difficult to change out. Restricted room, drilling out tough rivets, possibility of breaking your glass.
I took mine to the dealership and paid them to do it.
I don't really have the time to go through that misery.

Idk where your from, but I used to be an auto glass tech, and the company I used to work for used to do regulator changes for a fairly decent price (you provide the part of course).
My suggestion would be to call a couple of auto glass places and find out how much theyd charge to change the regulator. because if you have no experience with the rivets holding the regulator to the window, its at least a 50/50 chance of you shattering the glass

Thanks for the help/suggestions from everyone I've priced a few online, they're pretty pricey...almost enough for to deal with it for a while longer lol. What do u guys think of picking one up at a junk yard or local pull-a-part, price, reliability, availability maybe?

That's exactly why I had it done. I didn't want to have to buy another glass + tint.
OP: If you are going to the salvage yard, get the whole door. You can take it apart at home.

Maybe I can help here a bit. I have been doing auto glass work since 1985 and I just so happen to be in my doors this morning replacing speakers so I could verify my thoughts before I put my foot in my mouth.
There are no rivets on these years. You have the panel off so you have the hard part behind you my friend. All you need now is a ratchet and a 10mm socket. The glass is attached to the regulater with two bolts. You can actually almost see them in your first picture. Remove these two bolts and then slide the glass all the way up and secure it here out of your way. I usually use some tape.
Having the glass up out of the way gives you more room to manuver the regulator in and out. There are six bolts holding the regulator to the door. Mine are elec. if yours are manual the number of bolts may vary. Once you get the bolts out just twist and turn till you get it out. Simply replace in the reverse order. If yours is electric remember to unplug the motor before pulling everything out and plug it back in. When you reinstall the two bolts into the glass just dont apply too much torque as this could possible break your glass. What I always tell my guys is just snug them up but dont crank down on them. If you have any machanical ability at all you can be finished in an hour or less. Good luck and let us know how it works out.

its a fairly simple change...ive had to replace the regulator on my passenger side and driver side mine didnt have any rivets though....its just a pain in the *** if you have big hands trying to maneuver the regulator inside the door....look into this link this guy sells replacement metal teeth for the regulator to replace the flimsy plastic stock ones. when the plastic teeth get grinded down thats what causes your window to not go up or down...it will save you some time and money not having to buy another regulator and motor assembly.....http://www.steigerperformance.com/dif.cgi?SP12001
