I’m sorry that I have not got back to you sooner but when you’re retired it’s easy to lose track of time.
To answer your question on the removal of the boot; I’m no expert at it but I remember look at a video about it and they stated that it was easier to remove and replace the boot from the door jamb side but to never cut it.

So.... I'm going to be checking my wiring this weekend.....and was curious for all those that have had to pull back the rubber boot that protects the wiring loom that goes into the doors... is there any trick to getting it out and exposing the loom without damaging the boot itself?
