Replacing drum brake shoes and parts. Adjuster isnt making contact with metal piece which prevents from moving backwards. See pics. Need an assist if possible?
Thanks

There's something not quite seated right. I remember having this issue the last time I set mine up, but can't remember what it was exactly. I think it was something in the area up top where the self-adjuster cable goes over the cam...
Can you take a quick pic of the whole assembly?

What Tbone said. Something not sitting right. My guess is the star adjuster not slotted all the way into the shoe tab.
Should look something like this setup, minus the dirt and grease.

Weird timing. I had this problem on my '99 and fixed it yesterday. The hand brake felt loose. One side was great and the other side looked just like your picture. I could not figure out what the problem was by looking. I ended up taking off the top springs, the spring loaded cable and the 1/4 circle guide. Put it all back and realized the 1/4 circle guide was off.
Sounds like you just need to take off that guide and spring and try reseating it.
