I didn't have e3's, I had Bosch platinum +4's. Had misfire codes and a rough idle, poor acceleration. I replaced them with Champion coppers along with a tuneup and the difference was remarkable. Of course the cap, rotor, wires and coil were replaced as well, but I can tell you the +4's looked like **** for only a few thousand miles service. Champion coppers couldn't run any better...

That probably because any Bosch plug is made to be specific towards off shore cars. Honda, Toyota, Nissan ..... you should slap the parts counter guy in the face that sold you those. You might as well just put motorcraft plugs in it. KIDDING!!!!!!

To clarify, he's talking about the densos and autolites, not the champions

Our rigs love Champion Coppers. And they're basically the cheapest out there. Don't second guess em. Just use em and call it a day. You won't regret em

I would get the accel tune up package for $75, but I have E3s in my Jeep and Toyota, so I'm just a shady tree mechanic, but I noticed a big difference in the high Rev 4 cylinder, and a decent gain in the low Rev Jeep. Jeep could still use cap and rotor though.

Effing Tires Plus put autolites in mine. They didn't even gap them. They messured from .045" on up to .055". It handled them well though. The only missfiring I got was on cold starts (you know, -25*F or colder) and revved it a little. I replaced them with champ platinums *PROPERLY GAPPED* and felt no difference. This winter hasn't been nearly as cold though and the jeep has been parked since late December.

My dad put Bosch +4s in his 96 and it feels fine. It gets up and goes GREAT for 33s on 3.55 gears.

Just keep in mind the factory uses certain branded parts for a reason.

I wish I had an Oreilly by me, I hear they have good stuff. I know borg warner is good in whatever they make, so I would ****** that up in a heartbeat. And I have one more question about mpg's, would having 233,000 on it make me get 5mpg or is there something else wrong?

There is definitely something else, or multiple things going wrong to get 5mpg. There are many suggestions above, time to put in work.

I used Borg Warner wires, cap, rotor and coil from O'Reilly's and I am extremely pleased with the results.

Unless you have 38s and stock gears something is very wrong, id start with the basics and do a complete tune up, wires, cap, plugs, fuel filter, air filter, and go from there

Thanks, my dad is hell bent on the mileage affecting the mpg's. I never believed him, but i wanted to make sure. I definitely have some work to put in. Good thing winter down here in PA hasn't been so bad this year. Working in the cold sucks. Thanks for all the comments guys!
