Default Electric fan missing, need help!!!

Hi all,
I have a 1988 Jeep Comanche 4x4 with the 4.0L in it. Auto trans with A/C (not working). I bought this thing back in december and have done a LOT of work to fix it up. When I got this thing it came with no electric fan and a bunch of goofy wiring from the previous owners. I have sorted through a lot of that but I still need to locate the wires for my electric fan. I haven't bought one yet, but there appears to be no wires hangin out anywhere that would be used for this. There is a 2 post female plug on the thermostat housing that is not connected to anything, but this has no power to it so it can't be for the fan can it? If anyone can give me location, wired colors a picture or 2, anything would help. I appreciate your help and look forward to hearing back.
Thanks
-Paul-

FWIW, factory standard cooling on non-a/c equipped XJs consisted of the belt driven mechanical fan only. If all cooling system components are in top notch condition, the 1 fan should be adequate. When u get the efan wiring figured out, u'll have factory HD cooling.

2 post female plug on the t/stat housing tells me it's a later model housing. Does your radiator have a cap on it?

No, its the closed system. It could be a possibility the previous owner replaced the t-stat housing with a newer one. That plug doesn't look like it has had anything plugged into it in a while.

That is good to know, I was wondering if I was going to damage the engine at all due to not having an electric fan. I do have the components for AC and I am doing a restoration so I would like to get it figured out. What do you mean by "HD cooling"?

the relay that controls the electric fan (which is triggered by the A/C being on max, or the sensor in the radiator (in front of the airbox) is to the right of the airbox. if need be i can take a pic of where it is.

for all we know, the two post female plug in the thermostat housing was an "upgrade" from the PO.

My thoughts exactly.

Is there a sensor in the radiator in front of the airbox with a wiring pigtail on it?

There is no sensor or wires that I can see in front of the air box. Here are a couple pictures of what I'm working with

It looks as if there may be a plug in the radiator where a sensor is supposed to go. Even if I can use the sensor on the t-stat housing, i still have no power feed from the wiring harness

Would anyone be able to post a pic of the connectors for their electric fan? What color are the wires that feed it power?

there should be a relay on the drivers side of the engine bay, between the air box and fender.

I'm missing that relay. Any suggestions?
