Hello all. I have a 1991 XJ with manual everything. I wanted to convert the manual windows and door locks to electric. I found a 1994 XJ in the local JY, and got all the window regulators and door locks and harnesses from it. I did the electric windows first which by the way was NOT fun. all the rivets and stuff I had to remove and the bolt that holds the regulator to the glass was a real PIA !!! anyway, the windows work great, I only did the front because I didn't want to change the inside harness,,,so we are talking about only the front doors. both windows work great. BUT when I added the electric door locks, the mounted great, plugged in the harness, and they won't work, can anyone tell me if the door locks get their power from the master switch on the drivers door like the windows do ? or do they have a separate connection somewhere. I have looked all over the harness and can't seem to locate a plug or connector I over looked. I have even changed the master switch 3 times and locks won't work with any of them....any ideas ?? thanks.

 

I read something about up and down window relays in behind the glove box ??? when I pulled the electrics out of the doors there was a harness inside the doors and a cross over harness that went between the drivers kick panel and the pass. door. I never saw anything that connected up behind the glove box ? any ideas ??
