Default Electrical fan issue 01 xj

jus got my xj right before winter and it runs great with 175k on it. My only issue is the electrical fan does not kick on. The original one was completely seized up, so i got one from the junk yard uo the road. I tested to the vatter and works fine. The engine revs high cor like 1.5 secs then goes back low, and repeats. Im assuming when the engine revs high is when the electric fan is supposed to kick on. Does anyone have any ideas? Also my first xj, and i love this thing!!!

I think the e-fan kicks on when temps reach 218. So if it's not reaching that it won't come on.

It sounds like its trying to kick on when i have the defrost on it revs high then drops back down as if it wants to rturn on the fuse was blown so i reolaces that and have no change.

the a/c compressor should be kicking on when you run the defrost. That will make the rpm go up. I'm not sure if the e-fan automatically comes on with the defrost/ac...I can check mine later. maybe someone will know

Yea it runs great though doesnt go past 210. All functions work as far as ac/heat goes. But just weird how it revs up my buddy has one also but does not rev up like mime does.

I also get a jump in rpm's when my ac compressor kicks in...I'm not sure if it's normal or not.

I read somewhere that in some years the e-fan comes on with the ac, and some years not
