Default Electrical issues

I have a 92 Limited XJ and my domelights have never worked. Maybe they were the ones on the sunroof i threw away (was waterlogged and nothing worked on it.)

Ive been trying to get the rear cargo light to work and i found the switch in the hatch.

If i disconnect the Grey wire from the switch i get a full 12V on the yellow/purple wire on the dome light, if i connect it i get zero, If i close the hatch switch i get 12V (Closed door). Im not understanding what the hell is going on with this thing.

Someone have a wiring diagram i can follow to figure this out, I have Red, Yellow and Yellow/Purple on my domelight wiring. Anyone else have this issue? If i need to ill install a aftermarket domelight in the back/front of my jeep.

Let me know if none of this makes sense, im confused myself
