My engine just shut down while I was driving on the highway. I have a 1989 jeep Cherokee with a 4.0 6 cylinder. It has over three quarters of a tank of gas. Any idea on what it could be

It could be anything at this point. We can certainly rule out tire pressure as the culprit, but where to go from here? Will you tow it home, to a shop, try to repair it where it quit?
I guess i'd check for any CEL (error codes set) first, that is, if it does not start now. I believe you turn the key on/off /on/off/on quickly, then count the flashes from the CEL. This test may or may not point to a system to investigate further. Please, post your progress

Have you checked it to see if it is throwing any code? Do you have a strong blue spark? Also make sure you have the correct fuel pressure. Your year should have 39psi + or - 5psi at the fuel rail. You need to check it with a mechanical pressure gauge connected to the fuel rail. Once you check those things out let us know what you find and we can go from there.

I don't have the tools to run some tests and right now all I can tell you is that the battery is fully charged, I recently replaced my ignition coil and cps and it's not starting

I just need to know what could have made it shut down. When I was driving it just died and completely shut down so whatever the problem is has to do with that I think.

Its hard for anyone to help you without actually being there. How about some more info. What did it do before it died? Was it running rough prior ar anytime? Any recent service? Can you hear your fuel pump when you rurn the key to RUN? The more info you can provide the better we can try and put you in the right direction

That's the thing it was ruining great and just ask of a sudden shut off and when I turn my key now it makes no sounds and nothing comes on (like my radio) but I know it's not the battery unless there a loose wire or something. My headlights still come on and my dash except my radio. But that's without the key in

First off, there are no trouble codes/CELs on a Renix Jeep.

Answer this:

Tell me what your voltmeter reads with the key on, and then what it reads when you turn the key to Start.

He was using the tire pressure statement as an example of how little info we have to work with.

You're new and have a Renix Jeep.

Nothing comes on when I turn my key, nothing moves and nothing happens at all, the steering wheel unlocks but it's like there's no power steering and the brake barely work
But other than that nothing happens when I turn the key

Voltmeter doesn't read anything even in the On position?

You're getting no battery power to the vehicle for some reason. Check both ends of your positive and negative cables.
