Which engine?
I bought a 94 xj with 175k and it was getting hot. So i change the radiator, water pump, all the hoses, and flushed it 3 times, 2 with chem flush.
It still continued to get hot so i assumed as was told 99% of the time its a cracked head so bought a new head and installed.
Still getting hot so ruling out the above I think i have a cracked block.
So my choice now is to park the xj for around 6-8 months while saving for a new block or spend 300 at pull a part for a complete engine to hopefully make it driveable while i save to build a stroker later.
I am leaning towards the pull a part just to get it running and they do have a 30 day warrenty if i get it in and it doesnt start or its knocking i can pull it out and trade for a different one.
I will be doing all the work myself, i am a heavy duty diesel mechanic by trade so jeeps are just "tonka toys" lol

How hot? Does it get hot when driving, idling, or both? Is the a/c on when it gets hot? Is the electric fan coming on? Do you have access to a IR temp gun to verify the temp? How old is the radiator cap and fan clutch?
