To OP WHERE ARE YOU ?? If you live in a more temperate zone and have a "little" noise try heavier oil, my fav is Vlavoline racing oil. Available in like straight 50 (and higher) or add STP

Do NOT use racing oil. It is too thick, and it has little to no detergents. It is designed to be a short-life oil.
For short-life engines.

He could have stopped this if he'd just participated in the discussion. But he didn't, so...

Neither... appropriate engine oil like Rotella, Delo, Delvac, Premium Blue, or any well-testing high mileage PCMO.
Racing oil is not appropriate for street car use. Certainly nothing like SAE50. Regardless, no oil is going to save an engine with an assload of wear.

Larry, if you'd like to learn a TON about engine oil, just look for a recent thread on the subject posted by the green leafy guy there.
At least, I'm assuming he's green and leafy.
Come to think of it, he could be quivering, red, and with chunks of pineapple floating in him.
Erp.
I wish I hadn't thought of that.

Yeah, I've driven mine for a month with the oil light on(partially crushed oil pan.....). Finally changed the pan and adjusted the pickup tube since is was slightly off but not kinked. Along with the rear main seal while I was under there. My oil pressure is fine and dandy, fluctuates when it should, no noises either, running Rotella T6.
So you should be fine.
I would like to shoot the PO for tightening the oil filter soo freakin hard that a screwdriver through it didn't move it.
