So you should be fine.

I would like to shoot the PO for tightening the oil filter soo freakin hard that a screwdriver through it didn't move it.
It's not always so much that the filter was put on too tight but that fresh oil was not put on the seal before installation.

Maybe Salad's filter thread will be earth moving and showing FRAM is actually now up to par with the WIX, NAPA Gold etc part of the class haha.

The thought curdles my blood to the point I'm going to have to buy one and find out.

Dammit! lol

Interestingly Walmart here has completely dropped FRAM. All you can buy are Purolator and Bosch now.

They got tired of replacing engines due to cardboard contamination.

FRAM or Wally World? Walmart can barely replace a tire...

I was talking about Walmart. Saving a few pennies on an oil filter from a vendor is not cost-effective if you have to replace engines due to product failure.

Either that, or they read our many discussions about Fram filters on here and decided the bad publicity just wasn't worth it.

Yep. Orange Can Of Death.

The salvage yards are full of engines with one of those things hanging off of them.

Sourcing for parts, that would be a good clue as to why they ended up there...

That could be. I did have to turn the thing a lot though once I got it lose. He did something right in that it was a NAPA gold filter.
