Engine flooding? After new injectors?
So my 89 XJ is a 4.0, 5 speed, and i just replaced all the fuel injectors. But it's developed a new problem where it'll sputter a bit and jerk about like it's flooding sometimes when I let off or push in the gas pedal. It also smells like gas when I drive and is always smoking from the tailpipe. I can't figure out why it would be flooding or if that's even the problem but from my limited knowledge, that seems to be the likely issue. Anyone have a similar issue? Or know what may cause this?

Do you have the details regarding the injectors you installed?
Have you pulled the plugs to see if there is evidence of running rich on all of them (or some of them)? If all of them show evidence of running rich, I would definitely suspect that the flow rate of the new injectors is too high and the system can't lean the mixture enough to compensate. (that is, if it is currently rich).

My guess is the tube from the throttle body to MAP sensor got messed up.
