Default Engine off half second..
My manual Cherokee 2001 4.0l is "cutting off" half a second randomly when it get up hill with a trailer and the pedal is fully depress. It is like you remove the key and put it back on rapidly The symptom is there for about 15 years, not dangerous, but a little bit stressful for passenger not aware... what could it be?

How hard are you pushing the engine? Auto or manual?
