Default Engine shuts off

Have an 88 cherokee 4x4 and sometimes when I'm on a trail and I go over a big rock with my right rear tire my engine cuts off. It starts back up no problem, but I'm just wondering if I should be concerned or just deal with it? Also what could be causing this?

Bad power or ground on the fuel pump maybe?

Yea, maybe breaking power or ground to the pump. It'll stop pronto with the pump not running. IIRC power to it's relay comes off a fusible link. There is a fan of about 5, coming off the big post on your start relay.

The pump is behind that ring on the front of the tank with all the hoses and wires. Look and see if the wires to the pump might be messed with when you hit a bump. You might need good light.

Make sure you check out the identical post you created a few hours after this one, too. People (including myself and Cruiser) are wasting their time replying to that thread. And don't post the same question multiple times, it's annoying.

You are so right!!! I wish I knew why we are getting so many posting the same question over and over. I don' know if it's that they don't get an answer right away so they just keep posting it. I got to the point that I wont even try to help them any more.

. I was told by another member that this question would get more attention on this part of the forum. As for the duplicates, the mobile app has a bug where it tells me I didn't post it so I hit the button again.

I suspected it might have something to do with the app. I've never used it but it seems... less reliable than a Renix. I would definitely recommend getting under the back end of your Jeep with the engine running and jostling the harness leading to your fuel pump to see if you can replicate the problem in your driveway but make sure you check out your C101 connector as mentioned in Cruiser's Renix tips. There's a lot of good stuff in there.
