Default Engine stalling issue? PLEASE HELP

I've got a 95 cherokee xj 4.0 L 6 cylinder automatic with around 165,000 miles. Recently I performed a tune up, which included replacing thermostat, spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, transmission fluid/filter. The engine's been acting funny however. Usually the engine will run fine and smooth for about 20-30 minutes and then stalls out when i slow down or come to a stop. After the stall, I can usually start it up again, but sometimes it won't. I love this car and have put many hours into it and this is REALLY frustrating. Any ideas or help would be appreciated?

Stalling is a very common issue here on the forum, and a little search will give you some ideas.

For now:did the stalling accured right after the tune-up? if so, review the work done.

If the stalling only occurs when decelarating or running idle, your IAC (Idle Air Control) valve might be in play. Attached to the throttle body housing. Disconnect, dismount and clean with parts cleaner and small brush (do NOT turn the pinion thing), remount and reconnect, see if that helps.

Your TPS might cause stalling behaviour, but usually more when cruising/accelerating.

Others may have other ideas to follow, but do check your work with the tune-up first, if things have changed (worse) after this.

This issue started happening about a month ago, before I performed the tuneup. That's mainly why I performed this tuneup, however like I said it's still stalling out. I did do some research into the IAC valve and was just curious how to test and see if the IAC motor's gone bad? Also do you think it could be a bad o2 sensor? My check engine light does come on when it stalls, but when it runs smooth it is not.

I have also heard that possibly the fuel pump "sock" filter might be clogged and could be causing this problem. Could that cause engine stalling?

Thanks

I've seen many tps cause this exact problem always on decel. They get a drop spot in the potentiometer and the signal drops intermittently. You can see it on a scope as you slowly close the throttle by hand.

There are many other things that can cause stalling. But I have seen this situation caused by the tps often.

TPS can be at a stop, stumbling and stalling, chevy's were infamous for it back in the late 80's and early 90's
