Check the harmonic balancer. It has a notch that lines up with the timing marks on the block.

Got it up again, was setting it to furthest right mark, when 0 is 1 over from right...
Put oem injectors in and it sounds exactly the same.

I've welded my manifold a few times because it was cracked like hell, any chance this could be making the noise?

Its possible old school way of finding mystery noises piece of heater hose/garden hose three or 4 feet long one end on ear other end move to where noise is loudest .

I did that with my breaker bar, upper pan is pretty loud, but manifold is twice what it is... Just don't know if that can cause a knock? I just dumped seafoam into the vacuum, going to blast it out and check for significant leaks

Huge exhaust leak at the collector... Dumped 50% of that seafoam out right there.

I don't know the difference between knock and tick well enough to describe, but I'll replace the manifold if that can cause the noise.

Wouldn't surprise me, sounds just as bad as the 95 that blew up, (same manifold)
