Default Engine/transmission mounts

Our 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport was kind of rumbling at idle. Today I had the engine mounts replaced and the mechanic said we should also replace the transmission mount. He ran out to AutoZone and picked up a Duralast mount but when he got back to the shop it was not a good fit. He called the Chrysler dealer and the part is VERY expensive - and will take a week to get here. The mechanic says he has often used RockAuto in the past.

Since the part has to come from the US to Mexico - I'm going to be stuck with it if it turns out not to be the correct part.

Do you think this is what I want to order ?

Can you think of anything else related that I should order at the same time ?

Thanks

They may have sold him the wrong year. The configuration changed over the years, so you have to have the correct one for your year.

If you search on Rock Auto by year, make, model and engine, it should give you the correct one. However, because there was some weirdness in the transmission mounts and some confusion over fitment, if it were me I would pick it up locally so I could take it back if it were wrong. This is not a rare part, so any of your local auto parts should have one. If Autozone doesn't have the correct version, try a different store.

Keep in mind that when the transmission mount wears, it collapses. So a new transmission mount may appear an inch too tall compared to the one that comes out because the rubber support in the old one has compacted.
