Default Evap codes 0455 0442

I looked into other threads extensively on here and cant seem to find the answer

so i had p0455 a month ago checked every single evap line hose connection on the jeep could not find anything wrong
over the past 5 years i have owned it i replaced the steel line out of the tank 6 rubber connections and the gas cap

just yesterday decided to get the codes read again and now there were two 0455 and 0442 i have never thrown two evap codes guy at the parts store said 0455 is purge valve malfunction on his computer and 0442 is small leak but i keep reading different results for those codes

I still run the evap ball in my jeep just tucked it into the engine compartment after I swapped bumpers

could the canister be bad?
purge valve?

Really could use some advice thank you

They are both evap leaks and the right way to find the leak is to smoke the system, the auto parts guy just tried to sell you a part, since it may very well be the purge valve or other things like the evap line somewhere or even the charcoal canister. Don't throw parts at this, have a shop smoke test the evap system
The p0442 is a small leak and p0455 is a larger leak, I am running my cherokee for over a year with these codes, it does not hurt the jeep and you will see none to negligible fuel mileage difference

I finally went and got a smoke test done well worth the $60 I know the guys at the shop they let me watch the whole thing. My leak detection pump it bad it stays open all the time even though it clicks to shut it doesnt shut and a rubber hose i replaced last year developed and oval open creating a leak.
