Everyone’s favorite lift...Rough country
I am in the market for a lift kit, but am not looking to spend crazy amounts of money as I don’t do serious off roading. I’ve had my eye on the RC 4.5” x-series lift for a little while now as something I would be comfortable buying. Who all has had experience with this lift and if you could post photos of it, that’d be greatly appreciated. Really like how this lift looks and it’s in my budget plus I feel would be perfect for what I’m looking to get out of it.
(Daily commuting/trails/dunes) I’m still very new to the concept of lift kits and was hoping to get some feedback here. Thank you!

some helpful advice... rethink the height of your lift... I know it is hard to to convince someone who has their mind set on a certain amount of lift... But really, I put a 2.5 in Old Man emu on my truck and I've never been happier! If you go above 3 inches of lift you suddenly have to start worrying about things like drive shaft angles and transfer case drops and other issues that cost an awful lot of money. And effort!
.. my 2.5 inch lift gives me clearance for 31-inch tires easily 33 years in a pinch, especially if you do some clipping... and my climb ability and ability to ride through the wood trails at I do are fantastic. And I can still keep it as a daily driver so I look like a badass in the hospital parking lot that I work in with my muddied up Jeep... I also didn't have to spend $800 on brand new shock that were crazy extended... take a piece of paper and add up what you'll have to spend on shocks new drive shaft U-joints a transfer case drop and all the extras that come along with having a four and a half inch lift... my 2.5 inch lift cost about 1/4 of that and I still have a hell of a lot of fun... And look cool... Check out the pic on my post. Reliable, fun, looks good, and it didn't cost me $3,000 on a $3,000 vehicle... also, I've been able to take my leaf springs and coil springs off and apply them to other Jeeps when the last one died... Just saying... although if you want to go 4.5... I've heard great things about Rough Country... But poor thing about all the extra time effort and money you had to spend to make it functional... welcome to the addiction! And Merry Christmas to all and to all a good-night!

I wouldn't waste the money on a Rough country lift, they ride rough, the shocks aren't very good and commonly start leaking prematurely, and the springs sag within a year. Zone and Rubicon Express are much better quality for the price.

Look at Rusty's, Zone, Rubicon Express. Those are all great budget minded companies. My Rusty's leaf springs are 8 years old and still look great. Too many issues with Rough Country products to trust, sure they warranty most of their parts but after several replacement parts you have to ask "is it worth it?". If you're looking for the best bang for your buck you should shop around. Superlift 550 coils from Summit Racing for $70 are great 4" coils with a low spring rate that'll ride like stock, you can order Rubicon Express leaf springs from Amazon for about the best price you can find. Shocks look at some Doetsch, Bilstein, or Rubicon Express Mono shocks.

My only thinking behind the RC lift is that I’m not going to be doing serious off roading (mostly trails/dunes) so I think it’d at least be able to fulfill that and if shocks go out I’d upgrade them to better quality ones
