Which exhaust to choose...
I know there were a ton of exhaust threads created, and when I was looking through them, flowmaster 40 was the muffler of choice. I looked up a few exhaust clips for the flowmaster 40 and half seemed like they were good deeper exhausts and half seemed like they were rice burners. The last thing I want is to spend 150+ on a muffler and tailpipe and have my jeep sound like a honda with a fart can and primer on it.
So truly what do the flowmasters sound like? Are there any other exhausts anyone wants to suggest?

i have a flowmaster 40 on mine. it sounded decent, not terribly loud and a little deeper then stock. personally i wanted it louder, i took the cat off, and much louder, grumblier idle and good sound at 2500K+

I have a Flowmaster 40 on my XJ and it sounds good, but I also have a Borla header and no cat(destroyed it on a rock). It has a nice hummm at idle and roars when opened up. Does not sound ricey at all.

You can hear it really good at @ the 5 minute mark in this video.
Did a cool 4 wheel burn out too.

I vote for a flow-pro. Looks/built like a FM but 1/3 the cost. Sounds good without being obnoxious. If you don't want to deafen the neighbors it's a good deal. performancepeddler.com

It is all personal preference really. I like the straight-thru design mufflers better.. Magnaflow/Bullet Performance, Dynomax Ultraflo, AeroTurbine (very nice but spendy). For chambered, I would say.. a Flowtech Warlok. AS you can remove the "flow intensifier" and run straight out, with just a few wingnuts.
