Default NEW XJ

That was a GREAT deal trading the gun for the Jeep. My 2000 XJ is a daily driver and need to keep it somewhat stock; but have my eyes open for an
older XJ down the road.
Keep us posted on your projects -- you were lucky getting that gas tank out without frozen bolts and/or broken ones. I want to put a gas tank skidplate on the 2000; but not ready for a 2 day job and broken bolts ....
There should be a easier way to put a skidplate on without taking the d____ gas tank out ????

i soaked mine in penetrating oil the day before i did my fuel pump job is a good keep just needs some TLC to get it back up where it needs to be. I'm about to turn mine into my daily driver since diesel I'd getting so expensive but I'm still going to lift it and all that Good stuff

Default NICE JOB !!!

Don't show it the guy with the rifle -- he might want to trade you back ..... LOOKS FANTASTIC !!

Randy from Oceanside, CA

PS: I ran into problems with my new Cooper tires when the Discount Tire guys told me 245/75/16 would fit without rubbing. When I went in to pick
the Cherokee up, I mentioned that it did not look like it would work.
Now I have to wait 10 days for the next size down to come from Ohio !
I only got about 5 miles from home where there are dips in the freeway (on the way to Home Depot) and the rears rubbed the back. Last night I picked up my 240 lb son and his 250 lb friend and I barely got home ......
Crap -- was going to go camping this weekend !

Wow that's crazy I'm running 2457515 on mine without any problems you could usually run 30s with minor trimming must be something with your rims offset

Default EXP. VEHICLE cont

It has got to be the 16 inch wheels and I am finding out that 16 inch tires are hard to come by also !!!
This is a "Freedom" 2000 XJ and either the dealer or factory went up a size and added a few goodies to the base model. If I would have known both of these issues; I would have bought some 15" wheels and had an easier time finding tires. I have been dealing with discount now for 3 weeks with the original order. Both sets had to come from Ohio via Pony Express ..... For some reason my Cherokee also has rear mudflaps which I am going to take off before the tire exchange. The issue with that is the guys power up their impact wrench and I can not get them off with a star wrench or my medium size breaker bar. Going by Harbor Freight tonight and picking up a 1/2 inch electric impact wrench ...
Have a GREAT weekend . If I get the tires sorted out, I am going to Anza-Borrego Desert Sunday and play !!! thanks, Randy

Jeep looks great. One think about those cup holders. I dont think they are gona last while off roading or hitting bumps in town.

Subbed. I'm thinking that 'expedition' was what I really wanted for my XJ. Looks like you've got a good start.

Default Exp rig update

Alright so I ended up selling this rig and I got lucky and ran into my old jeep XJ that already had a ton of work done to her so I'm picking up the expeditionary rig portion back up on that thread I'll be doing the same floor plan I did with the XJ and won't have as much work but still plenty of work though
