You could make them yourself out of some box tubing if it really came down to it. A hole saw to match the tubing diameter and something to cut/shape the tubing. Might be a little "redneck" but it will buy you some time until you are ready for the 8.8 swap.


Check or call local hot rod shops too. Like I said a few posts ago ... old muscle cars used leaf springs. There has to be someone in Canada that has them in stock. Heck ... look up leaf springs in your local fone book. The big truck leaf spring places should be able to point you in the right direction.



*for those that are curious ... I did send him a quote for the perches. Shipping to Canada cost more than the perches themselves.

You have now. I've re-geared two 8.8's and a D30 in my garage and have nearly 50k miles on them together. Only specialty tools you really need are a dial indicator w/mag stand (backlash), in lb torque wrench (pinion preload), ft lb torque wrench, and a case spreader (D30) helps. The other tools (pinion depth gauge...) would make the job faster but you can do it PROPERLY without.
