I know this is an old thread but I'm hoping somebody can help me out.
I have the factory setup for the fog lamps (2000 Cherokee Sport), factory switch, wiring and harnesses except the lamps are aftermarket. The cheap blue lens ones. They don't work. The light on the switch comes on when I switch them to "on" but the lights don't.
I'm looking at my FSM diagram (which is like looking at hieroglyphics to me) and I think my problem is the relay Fog Lamp No.2 in the PDC since the switch light comes on.
Am I correct in thinking this?

Thank you, I will give it a shot first thing in the morning. To test with the multimeter I guess I would pull the fuse and check for current while working my way to the interior fuses, meaning checking no2 and if it has current then the no1 fuse is good?

If nothing helps, you could just wire them directly to a switch. I just did that today with a friend of mine. It takes a little time, but it's not extremely hard. Finding out where to run the wiring is the hardest. I have my switch next to my power/comfort switch on the dash to the right of my steering wheel. Its the perfect placement right next to all the other stock switches.

I was thinking of doing that if this doesn't work, these Jeep headlights just aren't bright enough so I would really like to have the extra light.
I am pretty sure it's a fuse because it looks like the one lens is cracked and a good deal of moisture has gotten in there. I'm thinking the the moisture may have blown the fuse? My knowledge in the electrician field is EXTREMELY limited. Could the moisture have blown the fuse?

Any moisture in contact with electronics is bad. It could cause a fuse to blow, but I'm no electrician either. What brand are the headlights and fog lights? My headlights are Sylvania and Wagner halogen(yes, I have 2 different ones). They shine pretty far, especially on high beam. My fog lights are cheap Blazer ones I believe. They're so cheap they don't even have anything marked on them. But they serve a purpose.

No. The relay has 4 contacts. Two are used to trigger the relay and the other 2 make a connection between the fuse feed and the fog lamps. The test consists of doing ohm or continuity testing. You have to apply battery power to activate the relay for further testing. It sound difficult but is fairly easy to do.
You can also check for voltage at the wire feed to the fog lamps. With the switch on you should have voltage at the lamps. If no contact is available you can stick a pin in the wire to get a reading then reseal the hole. If there is battery voltage at the lights the relay is working.

Wiring fog lights directly to a switch is not the recommended install. The power feed should go thru a relay. There is some power going to the lights.
