Factory radio fitment (year/model)
I have a 2001 XJ and I'm looking for a factory radio to replace the aftermarket one the last owner put in. I don't listen to CDs or MP3s; I just want a radio with a clock that dims with the Jeep dimmer switch and has controls that match the rest of the dash.
Obviously, a radio from a 2001 XJ would work. What other year/model Jeep radios will fit in there? When I say "fit", I mean it slides right into the same size hole in the dash and plugs right into the factory harness.
Wranglers, Durangos, Dodge trucks?
thanks

I have a 97 and the factory radio clock/station readout kept failing (going blank). My son and I found a nice replacement in a Grand Cherokee at the junkyard for 15 bucks. I don't know what year it was but it was an obvious match in size. Took all of 5 minutes to do the swap and the "new" one works like a champ.

Uggg....yes the 1.5 din size is annoying. I'll sell ya mine...I never use it. It is a tape deck version though. Probably cost more to ship than what the sell for (though I haven't checked). I'm probably gonna replace it eventually with something that is a single din and has the aux in, iPhone/iPod compatibility. I refuse to listen to terrestrial radio except for a local traffic and weather station. I won't even have that in Florida when I move.

Late 90's, early 2000's Chrysler stuff should work. 1994-2002 Rams, 97- XJ's, some ZJ's maybe?
I'm in a similar boat, I have a stock tape deck in my 2000, but I think I'm going in search of a Dodge Ram Infinity CD deck. Should be a direct swap if I' correct.
