Default Factory Trailer Wiring Harness LED question

Just bought a utility trailer that needs new lights and a harness. I have the FACTORY trailer wiring with the 3 relays, thermal fasher, and 7 pin connector on my 96. I like the idea of the LED lights, and they are only a couple bucks more than the kits with bulbs.

But... I've had issues in the past with LED's and flashers working correctly on motorcycles. Sometimes even an electronic flasher doesn't work (not enough load). I DO NOT feel like taking the panel off again to switch out the flasher. I'd just get the standard kit instead.

Can anyone confirm whether LED trailer lights will work with the factory harness before I waste my money?

I guess I could also use load resistors if I have an issue. That's probably what I'll do.

Will report back...

The only way you know if they will have problems is to try them , like you said you can always add in the load resistors .

Yeah, I'm thinking the trailer module won't even feel those LED trailer lights. JMHO.

There are flashers made for LEDs.

Update for anyone else who ever has this question:

LED lights worked out of the box with the factory harness. I don't know why, but they did. I guess because I can hear the rear flasher clicking even without the trailer hooked up, so there is some kind of redundancy built into that crazy harness.

My modded HF trailer has LED lights, both rear and side marker and they worked just fine with my 95's factory trailer wiring.

LEDs don't have any resistance. They have resistors built into them just so they don't fry with too much current flowing thru them. They are diodes that emit light. That's all.

Right, and that ultra-low resistance is often not enough load to trigger a thermal flasher to flash. I thought that because the factory harness has a thermal flasher built into it, that it would be the sole flasher for the trailer, and would therefore not work right. But, it does work.
