I hear ya Cameron. I live in MoVal off the 60 and Perris. I jumped on the 60 freeway and drove like a mad man, pedal to the floor onto the 215 south and exited Alessandro where the station was. Next time i will need to drive like a mad man through the badlands to banning, turn around and then go to the inspection station.

I hate all this Government intrusion and living in Commifornia, it's the worst. Sorry to hear about that B.S. with your old bomb.

A bad O2 will look to be ok but in reality it could be bad. If your gonna pull it you might as well change it.

But seriously...it's a $30 part. I'd replace it anyways just to be certain.
I replaced the spark plugs, fuel filter, valve cover gasket, t-stat, tighten the manifold bolts and replaced the o2 sensor. I go in tomorrow for my second smog check. Keep your fingers crossed and wish me luck. I never thought I would look forward to standing in line at the DMV, but if I am tomorrow that means I passed.

Ok here is the old O2 sensor. How does it look to you guys??

Forgot to mention that I also changed the pcv grommet (on the top of valve cover gasket and it was shot, probably the original). My oil was changed less than 500 miles ago and still looks light.

Been sitting for a few years, 150K plus and just a bit over the top.

Fuel additives will not assist during the test. You may try adding a pint of alcohol to the fuel.

If your exhaust header is cracked it can cause a rich condition.

A fresh O2 sensor may also help, but a fresh Cat WILL get you under the limits.

Doesn't look terrible, but doesn't look good either. I'd replace it.

Yeah the o2 sensor wasn't new, It was the idle stepper motor that the PO had changed. I did replace the O2 with a new NTK/NGK

Will do odgreen89

Just an update for all of you that helped with advice. I passed my smog test today and the tech told me that it was running as clean as it could be for the miles it has (183,000).

Thanks again to all that helped!
