I've got a 94 4.0 due for smog as well. Knock on wood, I have not failed. I will be getting my smog done this week. I check/change or add if need be the following. 1. Air filter 2. change oil if close to being due 3. Chevron fuel injection clean every other fill up. Excessive by some people, but it's always help me bring up my gas mileage for past 10 years. 4. Go into testing with a full tank of gas 5. Fill my wind shield fluid and clean contact because it kicks up the light on the dash time to time. 6. **Most important** I'll drive on the freeway for min. 30 minutes before heading to the Star Test station. If their not ready for my jeep and the engine gets cold. I'll ask them for a heads up, if I'm next, I want to drive my jeep to warm up the engine. I'm hoping I pass again
