Fan Blower Doesn't Work on Speed 3
Hi all,
I have a 97 Cherokee Limited.
I brought the car with the faulty fan blower, as it does not work on speed 3. I have changed out the heat resistor for a new one, but the issue still isn't fixed.
Any ideas re what the issue could be and any solutions?
Thank you!

I had a similar issue and it was the control switch on the dash. Those things are notorious for burning up. hopefully your wiring is still good and not burned. I had to replace a little bit of wiring too and that was the only PITA part because the existing wire was already barely long enough to come out and splice it.

The resistor pack does get burned, look at the wiring plug
I thought it was only up to '96, but the electrical design is so ****house that I placed a relay behind the kick panel for every speed
Otherwise, full current flows through the entire circuit. When your fan motor starts drawing too much current, it can burn up everything, but the fuse doesnt seem to blow
The '97 and later changed design, which I thought overcame this flaw, but I could be wrong, you will have to study the Circuit Diagram and make up your own mind
