Default fan shroud

So after an exhaustive search of the the local junk yards ( withno luck) I oredered an OEM shroud from the stealership. Installed it today and just did some stop and go driving. Never got over 200*. 88* outside today , would usually be over 210 pushing 215 normally. So I believe between the heavy duty fan clutch and shroud it has helped quite a bit. Just an FYI.

* Will keep you all posted.

I had the same problem finding one myself. Although the p.o. had cut the top off mine, so i made a top portion out of 16gauge sheet metal.

I did not, but I still had most of the shroud.

If today was a indication, I have a 10* drop.

not bad, seems like the shroud might be kinda important.

Important and apparently pretty fragile. The one junk yard I checked said every cherokee they got in either had no shroud or a busted one.

Maybe people leaning on them to work on the engine?

I also had to buy a shroud from the "stealership". Cost me $54 if I remember right The bottom portion of the shroud would not fit with the new radiator I just installed so I had to use a pair of clippers to modify it by removing the bottom portion of the shroud in-between the tabs that seat the shroud in the radiator and secure with zip ties for stability. Wierd right? I also reconnected the electric fan which was disconnected when I bought it from the PO. It never heats up above 210 except on occasion when I run it hard above 8000 feet which I don't understand.

Will a 97' fan shroud fit on my 96 cherokee?
