hey i just put a 4.5 inch lift in my 1999 cherokee today, i was driving it to get the alignment done and when i would get to about 45 mph my jeep would start shaking voilently like it was about to fall apart, is it just my alignment or somethin else. oh by the way the place was closed so i didnt get it realigned.

its called death wobble, there are many many causes, it could be a lot of stuff but a good alignment might help.

Get your alignment first. Is your steering wheel jerking, or is it a fast sharp seat of the pants vibration?

Re check tightness of all front suspension componants that move. Did you install any kind of a TC drop kit? If not I'd agree you would have major rear DS vibes. TC drop kit and rear axle degree shims should have come with your lift kit. If they didn't, get them and they will cure vibes.

If its a rough country lift then i would say its just the ride... i just put a 4.5 rc in and when i hit bumps thats what it feels like!! that and i get a wierd thumping noise when i hit bumps.... can seem to figure that one out!! put a sye in it and do the alignement then drive it.. it'll take some time for everything to settle.

i put new tie rod with tie rod ends, adjust. trac bar, new stabilizer, and balanced tires, still no alignment and i get it once in a while after wheeling when i been in mud, but everyones jeep acts different with a lift as ive seen. my first jeep had no death wobble ever and i had just a 6 inch lift and 33s everything else stock. good luck
