Default Fender Flares

This might be a dumb question but, I have a 1998 sport that was fire damaged on the left side; front and rear fender flares are melted as were both door trims, I can feel a stud sticking into the inner fender area but how does one remove these? I may just leave the door trim off but would like to replace both fender flares on the driver side. Also if somebody can refer me to a site for flares that match the OEM that would be great.

Thanks

What color flares? I think they're 10mm nuts on the inside of the fender.

The flares are removed with a 10mm nut on the inside of the fender. However, more times than not the little studs on the mounting brackets break off. If so, no big deal since you need new ones anyway, and can just pick up the mounting hardware with the new flares.

However, the bad news....I have not seen anywhere that has the 97+ OEM fender flares for a reasonable price. I've been trying to find some for mine, but have not had any luck without spending almost $100 per flare. You will probably be stuck going to a junkyard and trying to find some unless you have deep pockets.

I had to remove mine and when I did I broke almost all the studs. I was able to drill them out and thread some 1/4-20 into them and put them right back on.

When I removed mine (rear only) I removed the 1/4 bolt from the front, and the bumper end. Then if you move the flare toward the front of the vehicle & pull up the flare pops off leaving the bracket intact. Install is just the reverse.

The only reason that didn't work for me was that I couldn't get the flares to hold tight to the body after I put them back on. I must have bent the brackets when I slid the flares out.

Thanks guys!

I will check it out better when I can get in the garage, the color is black or a dark grey kinda hard to say cuz they look faded. I might try some paint or stain to get them back to black
