What I had posted are the survey results of AT tires from TireRack.com.

As far as the country of origin, it's marked on the tire. OR Just ask your supplier/retailer. Hankook and Toyo are Korean and Japanese companies.

BF Goodrich, Bridgestone/Firestone, Cooper, Goodyear, Kelly Springfield are still manufacturing tires in the US of A.

I didn't publish the country of origin which can vary but the code on the tire sidewall first two letters behind the "DOT" will specifically state where in the US it is manufactured. Otherwise it'll say made in Canada or Mexico for example.

DOT BE XX XXX XXX

BE is BF Goodrich - Tuscaloosa AL - American Made !

BF is BF Goodrich Woodburn IN - American Made !

Non American Made,

Michelin LTX AT - DOT XXX Made in Canada. - On the sidewall.

BF Goodrich,Goodyear and Firestone have about 4 plants in the US, not sure about General Tire....they're not listed on the Union Website.

I've read a lot of good reviews on the Kumho KL71. that's what I'm planning to get next.

I have the federal couragia m/t, grip like super glue. Realistically you'll probably get around 25-30,000 miles of usable tread or less but your can get them for really cheap so it kinda equals out. I got mine for 448 mounted and balanced, so if i have to buy tires again in a year then thats fine when im getting them for so cheap. Dont take it as thesr being cheap mud, tires they're just a softer tire. So they wear easier than some others although the softness of the tire does help them ride very nice.

I didn't say anything about bf goodrich or any of the others. I stated General. My info is also from tire rack.

Go to specs. Furthest to the right shows country of origin.

Default Oh Mexico...Yo No Quiero. Gracias.

Yep, that would explain why Generals weren't on the list of American Made tires on that Union site.

Even BFG makes a TKO in Mexico...though in a small size.

So after seeing that the Firestone TOO is listed as being manufactured in Mexico, that pretty much leads me back to the Duratrac which IS US Made and only $25. more than the 'Stone.

Goodyear also currently has a $40. rebate going on with the purchase of 4 tires.

Looks as if 31x10.5 Duratracs are in my XJ's future.

had duratrac before the authorities. authorities are way more quiet, and the only time i got stuck was last year bombing through old snow banks on the mountain and that was a high center issue. use them on slick rock, snow, mud and road and love them.

Default Goodyear as Jeep XJ OEM TIres

Thanks CK1 for posting those pics on your great looking Classic XJ BTW !!

Though I am not generally not a big fan of Walmart, That Wrangler Authority IS a good looking tire.

It almost looks as if they merely slightly modded the mold for the Duratracs to protect the Brand name for the retail market and created a variant of it for Walmart renaming it the Goodyear Wrangler Authority !

I hate to say this, but I am looking at the price per tire @ $133 vs. $176. for the Duratrac and that is really making me think twice about the DuraTracs now. $43. per tire difference ?

That's fairly major coin there.

At $43. per tire, Are the Duratracs that much better of a tire ? The Authorities are 25% less than the DuraTracs AND American made as well !

$43 x 4 = $172. savings would help pay for my JKS Adjustable Trackbar much needed for my recent 3.5" lift too !

It's pretty much a No Brainer Man.

Alot of owner reviews say the sidewalls flex bad on highway curves. What do you think?

I have the Goodyear Wrangler Radials. They are a great tire for the money but they are not the most hardcore tires for wheeling. for a budget at they work just fine and they did pretty well in the snow this year
