finally, fixed the ac
Alternating current, that is.
Ha ha ha, just kidding, it is the air conditioner I fixed!!!
I've been talking about doing it for a while now so I got tired of the heat and went out and hooked a can of freon the low side of the system and put a jumper wire on the pressure switch plug and started it up. Jeep pulled in a can and then I pulled the jumper wire to see id the compressor would stay engaged and it did. So I put another can in to cool it a bit more till I can get over to an ac place and get it vacuumed and redone properly.
So, the old dude was right. A can every summer kept him in the ac. This cherokee is a better deal each time I do something to it. Now, we have ac in both jeeps and each time just took a can or two of freon and a wire to get it back

when I was living down there I was trying to tough it out, I figured out it was a leak, and if I charged it the ac would blow cold air, for maybe a week, so I tried to put a leak detector/stop leak in there and it worked for a long time, BUT then all of the sudden i would get a terrible oil smell, I thought the engine was dying, so I would just run it without the air blowing, so a while later I figured out it was the crank case vent leaking oil onto the manifold, so I fixed it and turned the AC back on and NOTHING but HOT air. So I tried to check the pressures, but the valves on the back of the AC compressor on the manifold wouldnt open anymore...
yep.

I'm not sure whats wrong with it, I threw in a couple of cans of freon and stop leak when I got it but it didn't do anything. I think it has a leak some where.
