For the flashlight likely you would be ok just screwing to plastic but I'd rather screw to metal..

Probably. PM xjjeepthing because he can better answer your specific questions about that. Mine is in that little hollow on the right side and I used sheetmetal screws into the plastic but did apply some glue to the back of the maglight clip too, so I am unsure which is holding the light in place.

looks like a plug to run power tools or maybe air compressor. Or it could be a self-destruct button.....

You notice how he blew off that question? Must be the self destruct button as you suggested.

When I put in my maglight mounts in I drilled very carefully through the plastic into the metal pillar and used some sheet metal screws. Yep its a Marine Accesory plug I have wired directly to my battery, comes in handy for charging a cell phone or a small DC TV I have. I also have one of those big hand held spot lights, works great for deer season.

Still avoided the answer to the question. So I guess that confirms the existance of the SELF-DESTRUCT button. So if you meet him on the trail keep your distance in case he gets a short and explodes.

It is about time. What gauge wire did you use and where did you route the wires? Do you have a fuse or some type of breaker?
BTW guys it seems we don't have to avoid xjjeepthing on the trails but until he answers this question stay a little ways back in case it shorts out and burns to the ground. LOL

I used 10 gauge wire and yes it fused with a heavy duty fuse holder like you would use on a stereo amplifier. I ran the wires in the panel and under the carpet in through the firewall. Blue I think you have way too much time on your hands LOL. J/K

Raining here again so can't get out to play with my Jeep and TV is boring me completely out of my mind. The reason I asked those questions is I have a huge inverter and want to mount it back in that rear cargo area but have been reluctant to run that kind of big power to the rear (worried about chafing and shorting) so you see this may be helpful to my situation. Retirement gives you plenty of time to do stuff on the computer and makes you feel like maybe you have helped someone.

Okay I mounted it up (pics tomarrow) but i just took off the pannel and drilled my hols THEN i found out the hard way that the blue sound crap they put under the carpet is also behind the pannel and does not like to be drilled thru it bunched up on my bit but after i got through that I put the bolts in and used a 1/2 washer then put a nut on also added some gorrila glue to the back of each bracket and it works great thanks for all your help next are seat covers then maybe a fire extingisher
