Good to hear that you got it done. Fire extinguisher should be a priority at the top of your list.

Raining here again so can't get out to play with my Jeep and TV is boring me completely out of my mind. The reason I asked those questions is I have a huge inverter and want to mount it back in that rear cargo area but have been reluctant to run that kind of big power to the rear (worried about chafing and shorting) so you see this may be helpful to my situation. Retirement gives you plenty of time to do stuff on the computer and makes you feel like maybe you have helped someone.

Yeah actually was thinking of some 4 gauge so that I have power for a small fuse panel back there to run several different things from like rear lights and maybe a small compressor.

What kind of brackets did you get? I orig. got mine from Home Depot, but that was about 4 years ago and if memory serves they were on clearance. I've been looking for them for a friend of mine and haven't been able to find them in the store locally.
And for anybody who might be interested, my set up by the tcase handle:
Comes in real handy for grabbing it while i'm getting out of the Jeep, or if I need to grab it while i'm driving.

It's also great when youre driving at night and you drop something under your feet.
The bad thing is the console is flimsy as everyone knows so these screw holes are going to give soon the more theyre tugged on. I'm thinking about removing the console, using bolts instead of screws and supporting the inside of the console with a strip of aluminum. We'll see how that goes and if it really makes a difference.
wow I just realized how old this thread is. My bad. It came up in search
