Well the gas checks out injectors check out distibutor checks out... I was told the dying after it getting warm most of the time is from the CPS. It starts fine and runs for a while but dies after it gets warm... so i'm replacing it in the morning. Hope this works...

You said before that you had spark after it dies,if the cps is bad or gets warm and stops, you will not have spark. The other thing to look at is your icm or coil.

hasn't been fun the past month... It hasn't ran long enough the past month to enjoy... I put a new starter on it today and it acts like it wants to turn over but it keeps going and going but won't just turn over and start... i've pretty mich rebuilt the entire thing so far but it's gettin to the point I can't keep sinking money in it. i'm trying to close on a house and i gotta start to be on a budget. I've sank prolly $3000 in the past 3 months and now this prob i can't figure out.... I'm stumped

have you checked the starter relay on the fender well,I assume it is hard to turn over like a dead battery or starter drasgging and not like it is skipping on the flexplate or flywheel.

The starter relay I am talking about is the one on the fender well where your positive wire is connected to and it has other connection points. I do not think the pcm is your problem.

I'm gonna pick up a starter relay tomorrow. $33.00 from Advanced Auto Parts... I checked the spark again and it is firing really good and fuel is great. I put a new starter on... New CPS... Distributor cap... button... Spark plugs... I'm gonna try a Starter Relay tomorrow if nothing happens any other advice? A brand new PCM is only $100...

Even after the new starter relay nothing... I'm pretty sure i hooked up the new one right i'm looking for a diagram that shows the exact wiring. But all of my wires are in the heat wrap plastic stuff and it's really hard to trace the wires...

as you look from the top down the wire arrangment on mine is the main post where your power is and all power with fusible links and alt, below it is small green which is the one I have had problems with in regards to starter, top right grren and blue wire, below it is a large green wire, and the bottom one is a black and white wire. Of course this is assuming no one has ever spliced my wires.

If yours is different then this let me know and I will look again as mine might have been spliced, there is electrical tape where it should not be.

Kevin, my brother has a junk 89 that we can look at for correct wiring and possibly steal (I mean borrow) parts from this weekend. It' in Mt. Juliet.
