Default First time lift

hey everyone. I have a set of 3in lift coils for the front of my 90 xj. Does anyone know if I can swap the front stock for the rear coils in order to get a small lift out of it?? Any thought or suggestion's. Thanks

Your rear shocks are leaf springs, not coil springs. To get a lift in the back cheap, do a 'bastard pack'. Lots of great info on them, just do a thread search. Baasically, it is adding leafs from JY rigs to net you your desired lift. Don't forget that at minimum you will need new shocks with your springs.

Where are you located. Maybe one of us is nearby and can help you build up your Jeep as needed.

Someone help me out here. Can we get Broken90 the lunghd article on budget boosting?

If you are going for a cheap lift, shacles are ok, I havnt heard a lot of good review on blocks, plus they dont really give any more flex then stock. And this is what is on mine except this is a 3 inch, long-leaf. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jeep-...item1e4e7233f8 You dont need the spacers but I couldnt find just an add a leaf.

after I read through this it seemed like he was calculating his lift height as the clearance gained after tires. thats not right.... in actuality this lift may give you 3" inches at most.
not saying its a bad thing if you do a 3" the right way (i.e. bumpstops longer shocks and brake lines ect....) you can flex out a set of 33's really nicely, add a locker and the right armor and there wont be a lot of places you cant go. but trust me once you get that far you wont be able to stop and your xj will

Agreed. You bring up a very good point. Buy or build the lift that fits the plans you have in mind for it. A pavement princess will likely have different demands than a dedicated trail rig.

original poster. What are you looking for. A cheap lift to get you trail ready or for looks?
