Default Fixed NSS, now I have crank no start

I'm at a loss. I was getting nothing when turning the key. I jumped the two posts on the starter (had just installed it along with new battery cables) and it immediately started. Awesome, confirmed its the NSS. I clean that up and put it together. I hooked up the wife's car with some jumper cables (I'd left a door cracked overnight getting in and out), fully expecting it to fire right up. Instead, I'm getting a crank no start. The battery seems to be strong, I left it on the cables for an hour or 2 just to be sure. I'm at a loss. I haven't had time to do anything other than Google it. Seems like it could be ECU, CPS, fuel pump, a Fuze, and on and on. I'm hoping someone on here at least has a starting point that would make sense with what I've done recently. Hopefully tomorrow afternoon I'll have time to get out there and at least check for fuel and spark.

What's the history of the vehicle? Did you just get it? Was it previously running?

If it's not starting, you need to verify that it is missing one of the essential components. Spark, fuel, and compression. Do a spark test first. Then check for fuel PRESSURE (don't just push the schrader valve and look for the squirt).

You said you were getting nothing with the key. That might lead me to believe it's an ignition switch issue.

I got it late 2017, it's given me no trouble. I think I've put around 14k on it during that time. The nothing on the ignition was before cleaning up the NSS. Now it cranks but doesn't start. It seems weird that it would developing a seemingly unrelated issue after doing the NSS. It's always ran great and started the instant I turned the key.

As agreen mentioned, the first step in your crank- no start scenario is finding out what you're missing. Go from there and let us know what you find.

Something to try is removing the ASD relay and jump terminal 30 and 78 with key on and see if it starts that way.

As it is probably a lack of spark or fuel, the easiest thing to do is run a spark test on the spark plugs, coil king lead (if your model has one)

If it has spark, squirt some ether spray into the air intake

Trying to do the simplest things first, and anything that has changed since before doing the NSS, I decided to check the battery to be totally sure it wasn't that simple. After jumping it for a while I tried to start. It still cranked without starting but I was able to get it to start by giving it some gas. Once I let off the pedal it immediately died. Does that give anyone any ideas?

Yes: check your fuel pressure with a gauge.

Is that a fuel pressure gauge or something generic? Pardon my ignorance, I'd be going to auto zone to see if they have one for rent. Assuming the pressure is low would that point toward the fuel pump or something else?

Yes a pressure gauge that you guys can apparently rent from the shop. You can also buy one cheap and have it for the future. It will give you an idea what pressure the pump puts out. Yes I know pumps create flow not pressure but for the sake of simplicity I just call it that. Simply hook it up to the shrader valve.
Value depending on your year. What year and engine?

In that case fuelpressure should be 45 psi +/- 5
