Flasher Relay for 94 Cherokee XJ. Help needed.
I've been having the hardest time finding which flasher relay I need. After following the posts and video online it became apparent that my 94 XJ does not have the relay in the same location as the newer models and that its a totally different part.
I'm assuming it's the round relay to the left of the pedals that clicks when the turn signal is on. The relay I received from the auto parts store after giving them my exact vehicle details is square... The jeep parts catalog lists part number 5600 7348 for the correct relay. Yet when I search online for it all I'm finding is a picture of the square relay for the newer models. Does anyone know how I could go about getting the correct relay?
Thank you,
-Jared

They're pretty dang generic.
Pull the old one. Walk into the store, tell the CSRs to leave you alone, walk back to where they keep them by the light bulbs and match up the terminal locations. Just because the new one is square doesn't mean it won't work. Have you tried it?

Thanks man. I haven't tried it but will this evening. I wasn't sure if it just plugged in like a regular relay and didn't want to just yank on it hard if it wasn't. From the looks it just plugs in.
I'll update later tonight.

The relay from the parts store didn't work but I swapped in my hazard relay and the blinkers worked perfectly. I'm going to exchange the relay for the correct one this week. Thanks for the help man!

1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Turn Signal Flasher Relay
On every single Jeep forum that I subscribe to I constantly see the question asked about where the darn turn signal flasher relay is located on a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Interestingly enough, on the '94, it is not in the same location as on most other years. The turn signal flasher relay for the 1994 is located in the glove box behind a hidden compartment. It has three screws holding the compartment on, and the turn signal flasher relay is the grey or dark grey square one located on the back right hand side. It pulls out very easily and the replacement is around $20 at most auto parts stores. I had to learn all of this the hard way, and thought I would pass this info along, because no one out there really seems to know about this. Hope this helps someone.
