Flex Plate Crack. Life expectancy.

Flex Plate Crack. Life expectancy.
1993 jeep xj sport 4.0 Aw4 np231.
So what I was hoping was lose bolts on my flexplate turned out to be a cracked flex plate. I couldnt see it at first but after all the bolts turned out to be tight I had a bad feeling so I looked harder and there it was...damn it.
It's enough of a crack to make a lot of knocking chatter. I've isolated the sounds to the flex plate...no knocking in the engine thank god.
My question is a matter of flex plate life expectancy and consequences of letting it go a while. I just rebuilt the TCase and installed a full suspension system so I'm tapped for a bit. Can I drive this chattery beast for a while?
