Ill be dammed... I was so focused on the hole location, I didn't see how far up the windows were. This is why I love forums. I shimmed it a few days ago but only with a washer on each side. It didn't do anything so I removed them. This looks like 1/8 or more difference.

One thing that still doesn't make sense though. If my CPS goes between 0 and 5 volts when I rotate it by hand, this means it sees the windows. What will putting thicker shims do?

I also just got a P0122 which a low voltage TPS. I mapped this guys this afternoon and it has in spec numbers as well.

Rotating it by hand is completely different than at running speed. I see this all the time with LS engines and the older reluctor wheels that like to separate. They are good up to a certain rpm, then stop reading. Again, taking a 100% guess here that the shorter window is your problem.

Cruiser has been around these jeeps longer than I have been alive so with him saying it's probably the flexplate, it probably is, for whatever reason.

I should have mentioned this earlier. I was able to get my Jeep started twice yesterday and it ran just fine. No clue what did it. I was fiddling around with wiring trying to hunt down my P0122 and P1694 codes but never found anything. When I turned my key, it fired up. Drove around with no issues. Turned it off to grab lunch and it wouldn’t fire up later in the day.

This is another reason why I think my plate and CPS are ok. I’ll still try shimming my CPS though.

I would love to find a Mopar CPS for my 98 Cherokee. I believe they are discontinued.
