My 89 was originally missing the passenger side and the cover on the drivers. They stick down enough I could see them getting kicked.

I took the covers off of mine. So much brighter and haven't been kicked yet.

Can't imagine what kind of gymnastics are involve in kicking something which is tucked up on the underside of the dash.

so i found a pair of the lights off ebay and i found the connectors tucked up in the dash so itll be an easy plug and play fix

My 89 XJ Limited and 88 MJ Eliminator had lights on both sides. I replaced them with 12" LED strip lights. The strips are attached by 3M VHB tape.

yeah thats pretty dope, i got my light installed and put an led bulb in and just kept the cover off and its about that bright, needless to say im pretty happy with it
