flowmaster super 44 offroad muffler
so i just bought the super 44 offroad muffler and put it on but where the outlet of the muffler attaches to the outpipe it doesnt fit as snug as i want it to and thus it leaks right there at that joint. it seems like the out pipe is a smaller diameter than the muffler but i don't know why. the muffler is 2.25 like the stock piping should be. can anyone tell me why it does this and how to make the leak stop, ive tightened the **** out of the clamp but got nothing.
Thanks,
Jack

ya thats what i keep hearing. i kinda wanted to stick with the clamps. ive seen other people put the same muffler on and not had a problem with it not fitting on the out pipe, i was just curious why.
BTW i like this forum better than the last one i was on.

Maybe the outpipe is an after market and of the wrong diameter. It could have been fabbed up at a muffler shop. My pickup needed new pipeing when I had to replace the mufflers about a year and a half ago so the muffler shop just bent one up to fit. They had to expand the ends to make them fit my Flowmasters.

i can't hear it while im in the Jeep. i thought that the super 44 was the loudest 2 chamber muffler that they made. i was expecting it to be louder. im going to figure out someway to make it louder.
