Foam padding for the carpet?
Some time soon, maybe this weekend, I plan on doing my drivers side floor board, and normally I would do the passenger side at the same time, but it’s gonna ship on March of next year. So that’s fun
Anyway, I want some foam padding to put under the existing carpet, because one, there is none, just carpet with some styrofoam, and two, I hope to reduce road noise and insulate it better.
I want the material that already exits under the dash that covers the area from the edge of the dash to about where the gear shift is. It looks about maybe a half inch thick, and seems like it’s some good insulation.
With all of that being said, where can I find some like what I just described? There’s some cheap options from Amazon that are about an 1/8th of an inch thick, and looks like a Pig Matt pretty much. So if anyone has a link to something pretty good quality, that would be awesome

Before you put down any padding clean and seal the floor 1st. because the padding can hold moister and rust the floor . Using some under coating to seal the floor can help cut down the noise .

noise can be reduced with tar mats but... such mats do get water trapped under them, and it is near impossible to get that water out short of pulling the tar mat out.
check with a local automobile reupolstery shop. they likely have rolls of the correct OEM type material.
