If you're using fogs as DRL's that's fine but they ought to be on reduced power & the wiring for them to be compliant with relevant regs. (usually only in daylight and with the engine running - or similar) would be interesting.
As for bulb life, they don't have their own bulbs, they're same as driving or spot lights &, indeed some headlights..

Thank you for your reply. I appreciate every single one. As this is a great opportunity to learn. I can always use more “smarts”.
Driving lights are only meant to be used on the open road. When I was a cop in S. Carolina. Traffic statutes there made it unlawful to use them other than open road use.
That said, these Jeep lights are not “driving lights” by any definition. Not sure they’re fog lights either as white light only reflects back.
I use them as daytime driving lights. To make my vehicle easier to see in daylight. As there are times, unbeknownst to a driver when your approaching vehicle is obscured by the background. Any illumination will help others see you approaching. Which is why so many new cars have daytime running lights.
Also and most importantly, I have raging OCD issues when it comes to things NOT working on anything I use or own. It’s like having poison ivy under my scalp and inside my brain. It’s very distracting! And annoying as hell to others inside my circle.🤓
Since my last reply. I’ve had to rethink my approach. Since I’ve hidden my new in the box replacement switch REALLY REALLY WELL from myself. I’m going to see if I can salvage one of the 3 busted switches I already have. I might as well try.
The only thing that’ll be different from a new one. Is the switch won’t be illuminated and I won’t have to install a relay.
I won’t have time to work on it for a few days. But I’ll post an update when I do. Gotta service the lawnmower first! No telling what is liable to fire off my OCD crap on that. 😕
Thanks again everyone. I’ve learned a lot.
