Thats what I thought. Why would mazda make their own rear when they could use the same one thats in the exploder My buddy was arguing with me about them saying they are totally different vehicles and every part is different when I know they share the same motors and drive trains.
Anyway I'm rambling on here, It is the same rearend. But did 92 have disc brakes? I would try and get a 96+ for the disc brakes.

so 96+ has 31 spline axles.
Dang after I just pulled the cover off and discovered it has a posi.
But I'm running 33's and don't plan on going bigger if I do it will be 35's I should be okay right?

I had no idea they had bigger spline axles in 96+ learn something new everyday.
This is my next mod after I get my SYE. You can get a 8.8 at a junkyard pretty cheap.
Oh, yea i have read you can use the explorer proportioning valve. Dont know if this true or not.
I don't know if a drum brake rear end has the hubs as a disc brake hub. And also the bracketry for the disc brakes.
