Found a Jeep but...
Hello
I'm new hear; good to be apart of the community. Here's the deal, I have found what I think may be a good deal on a 2001 xj. However, there are some problems that I need some advice on.
It runs a little hot (slow coolant leak)
It has CEL on (evap system)
Needs new clockspring
There is an OLD Man Emu lift on, but the guy told me it can wobble quit a bit when hitting a bump at 30-40 mph.
Serpentine belt squeaks at start when a/c is on
And finally, parking brake needs to be adjusted.
The Jeep looks good inside and out. It has 97,000 mile. Any advice would really be appreciated.
Thanks

here is how to replace the clockspring:
first unhook the battery and wait 10 min discharge air bag then take the steering column cover off t20 or phillips screws then take the air bag off be very careful it takes 10 mm bolts from the back side of the steering wheel 2 i think unplug the air bag set the air bag face up and not in the car so if it were to go or it wont get you then remove the 21mm bolt that holds the steering wheel on use a steering wheel puller to pull the steering wheel from the splines and remove the connector that may be there cruise horn exc the clock spring is located behind the steering wheel make sure the wheels a straight be for installing the new clock spring so you do not damage it if it is not centered the first time you turn the steering wheel to stop in one direction it will break the new clock spring
also about the evap issue. cherokees are known for developing vacuum leaks. Most often the leak will be from the vacuum line that runs right underneath the battery as it gets coroded and cracks. The second usual culprit here is the gas cap or fueling with the vehicle running. Reset your system with a OBD scanner or by disconnecting the battery and if the check engine light does not come back on you've fixed it.
