I did this, this morning and now I only have half throttle response.....? What purpose does this serve if im goin to have no throttle? Can I fix that?

Another little tip for downshifts. When you start to climb a hill with the torque converter locked and it starts to bog down, rather than giving it a ton of throttle and waiting for it to downshift just barely tap the brake with your other foot and it will unlock the converter. It Just takes about enough to turn the brake lights on. When the computer senses braking it unlocks the converter.

You must hold the button the entire time.
steps are push button and hold, push in conduit all the way and continue holding button while you open throttle to full position, then release button.
It is completely correctable though. Just redo it. This should fix your loss in throttle. If you adjust too tight it feels like you can push it to the floor (with some force) and it still won't accelerate to high speeds.
When you get it set just right though it does seem to make a little difference.

We all know there is some part to this which is done on the tranny itself. It is okay to do just the top end part, but I had problems when I did mine according to the directions given on the thread. I posted earlier about how I got hard shifts and all that so, read the thread and saw that other people on here had the same problem and had to hold the button while going wot, or even hold the button while having someone hold the gas pedal all the way down (what I did-which worked for me).
I understand the basic theory behind the whole thing. You get stretching in the cable over time and have to let that slack out. Here is what I don't get about not holding the button while going WOT.
Please forgive my drawing skills lol.
Pic 1 : This depicts the overall concept.
Pic 2 : X and Y depict possible slack in cable.
Pic 3 : depicts moving in conduit, but doesn't this effectively just move the slack from its current position on further down the cable, closer to the transmission spring? Seems like you are just moving the slack in this step.
Then when you go WOT, my cable never ratchets out without my finger on the button. Seems like if you didn't have the button depressed (which controls the movement of the cable, right???) it doesn't release the excess slack you just moved or created. I guess I am looking at this right. But I do know that holding the button while WOT was a must for me or it made my tranny shift like dunky dooballs.
