It's a 92 XJ with a 3" lift and 31x10.5" tires. Has the Chrysler 8.2 rear end with stock gears and the Dana 30 front axle stock as well. Right now I'm doing some mild crawling n mudding

well in that case...get a winch...it will get you out of trouble....locker will get you in trouble....

but if you decide to do the locker...may as well regear if you plan to go bigger

the best DD/off road locker that is not selectable and is $ cheap...

powertrax no slip..

second option will be

lock rite

and third

If you have a 231 transfer case then you can put lockers front and rear but if you have a 242 then a rear locker and a selectable front will work. Selectables are preferable anyway but quite expensive. If you are looking at lunchbox lockers an Aussie is about the best and they have recently introduced one for the Cryco 8.25 so you have several options as I see it!!!

Are you serious? They finally released one for the 8.25???????? I've been waiting forever for that and so has my friend. I bet they will be on backorder for years.

It is now listed on their website and I understand that there is a manufacturing glitch but they expect to have it in full production by Thanksgiving. That will be something to be thankful for.

hold plz.

the reason the aussie took so long was because they got a bad broach of side gears. now, they released the locker, and what a surprise, the side gears dont match up. dont hold your breath i think aussie is really fubar-ing this one. i have a d44 and an aussie waiting to go in.

that being said, i run a lock right in my 27 sp 8.25 and couldnt be happier. you can get em for ~300 bucks, maybe less.

if you have a 242 case (w/ full time) youll lose the full time 4x4 ability (on the street 4wd) with an autolocker, like an aussie or lock right, up front. with a 231, it wont be an issue.

I wish i had the 27 spline cuz i'd be running a lockright right now.....

I've ran a rear locker in every vehicle i've ever owned. I'm so used to it's handling that i dislike running an open axle now.

Ahh dc is down and i doubt they will be back. PORC doesn't carry it. I checked four other places, all $400+. Only one was $399. I'll keep looking.
